President Donald Trump took the stage at the White House on Tuesday, giving his first on-camera remarks in a week—and he didn’t hold back. From announcing a major military move to addressing wild rumors about his health, Trump made headlines in a big way.
Space Force command heads to Alabama
The biggest news of the day? Trump announced that the U.S. Space Force Command will move from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Huntsville, Alabama. Why? According to the president, Colorado’s mail-in voting system played a part.
“They do mail-in voting… so they have automatically crooked elections,” Trump said. “That played a big factor.”
Trump added that relocating the command would bring 30,000 jobs and “billions and billions of dollars” in investment to Alabama. He even nicknamed Huntsville “Rocket City” in honour of its new role.
The move reverses a Biden-era decision to keep the headquarters in Colorado. Unsurprisingly, Colorado leaders — including Governor Jared Polis — called the announcement “deeply disappointing”.
Jobs, money, and big promises
Trump told reporters that the relocation will be a major win for the local economy. “Billions and billions of dollars are coming to Alabama,” he said, promising the move will supercharge the city’s workforce.
When asked what happens if the Space Force Command can’t relocate, Trump shrugged it off: “Then we’ll get somebody else.”
Health rumours? Trump says he’s fine
Social media has been buzzing with speculation about Trump’s health—some even spreading fake rumours about his death. Trump laughed it off.
“I haven’t seen those rumours, but I’ve been very active over the weekend,” he said, looking energised.
This was his first public appearance in a week, which fuelled the gossip. But on Tuesday, he looked ready to go, speaking for more than an hour and tackling questions head-on.
Other headlines from the day
Trump’s Space Force announcement wasn’t the only thing happening in Washington:
- Chicago Clash: Mayor Brandon Johnson criticised Trump’s plan to send military troops to Chicago, saying the president is “not serious” about tackling violence.
- Military in California: Trump hinted that he may deploy troops to California again, sparking a quick jab from Governor Gavin Newsom, who mocked the idea on social media.
- Strike on Drug Cartel: Trump confirmed that a U.S. military strike destroyed a cartel boat in international waters, killing 11 suspected drug traffickers. He shared footage of the mission and warned criminals: “BEWARE!”
The Epstein files are released.
On the same day, Congress released over 30,000 pages of documents about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. While many of the files were already public, their release reignited debate about transparency and political accountability. House Oversight Committee leaders promised more updates in the coming weeks.
What does it all mean?
Trump’s announcements combined big promises, tough talk, and a bit of personal damage control. Relocating Space Force Command to Alabama could bring major economic benefits, but critics say politics played too big a role in the decision.
As for the health rumours:? Trump brushed them off like dust on his suit.
Whether you love him or hate him, one thing’s certain — President Trump knows how to keep people talking.
