If you ever felt like Siri was listening a little too closely, you are not alone—and now there is a $95 million settlement on the table because of it.
Who qualifies for the Apple Siri settlement?
You can file a claim if you owned a Siri-enabled device between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024, and experienced an unintended Siri activation during a private or confidential conversation.
The eligible devices include:
- iPhone
- iPad
- Apple Watch
- MacBook
- iMac
- HomePod
- iPod Touch
- Apple TV
If you have used any of these and Siri popped up when you were not talking to it—especially during sensitive discussions—you could have a valid claim.
How much can you get from the Siri eavesdropping settlement?
The maximum payout is $20 per Siri-enabled device, up to five devices, which means you could receive as much as $100. For example, if you had an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and a MacBook, you could get up to $60.
But here’s the catch: the actual amount you receive depends on how many people file claims. If a lot of people apply, the payout could be smaller. Still, it is free money for something that may have already happened to you.
How to file a claim for Apple’s Siri settlement
You can file your claim online, and it only takes a few minutes. If you received an email or postcard about the settlement, it includes a Claim ID and Confirmation Code. Use those to file at the official settlement website by July 2, 2025.
Did not get the email? No worries—you can still file a claim. Just head to the same site and select “New Claim”. You will need to provide your name, address, and proof of ownership of the Siri-enabled device (like a receipt or serial number).
You can find the email by searching-
“Lopez Voice Assistant Class Action Settlement”—some people only received it as recently as May 12.
When will you get your Siri settlement check?
The settlement will not come right away. The final court hearing is scheduled for August 1, 2025. If there are no appeals, the payments will be processed after that. But if someone objects or appeals the settlement, it could delay things. The settlement site says clearly: “Please be patient.”
How will the Apple payout be sent?
When filing, you can choose how you want to receive your payment. The options typically include:
- Physical check mailed to your address
- Direct deposit to your bank account
- Digital payment methods (depending on what is available at the time)
Just make sure the information you provide is accurate, so you do not miss your payment when the time comes.
