Here is the big picture:AT&T agreed to a $177 million settlement over two massive data breaches in 2024. These breaches affected names, Social Security numbers, call logs, and other sensitive data belonging to millions of current and former customers.

A judge in Texas gave this settlement preliminary approval, and now you have a real shot at getting paid—if your personal data was exposed.

Who can get paid and how much?

The payout depends on which breach you were affected by—or if you were part of both:

  • If your data was leaked in the March 2024 breach, you could be eligible for up to $5,000. That might cover costs like credit monitoring or identity theft protection.
  • The July 2024 breach could get you up to $2,500.
  • If both incidents included your data, you may claim up to $7,500 combined.

Still not sure? A website run by Kroll Settlement Administration is now accepting claims and can confirm your eligibility.

When is the deadline to claim?

You need to act now—the claim deadline is November 18, 2025. If you do not file by that date, you miss your chance to claim any compensation or free credit monitoring benefits. If you want to opt out of the settlement and keep your right to take legal action yourself, you must do it by October 17, 2025.

How can you file a claim?

It is actually pretty simple:

  1. Go to the official settlement website managed by Kroll.
  2. Use your Class Member ID, email, AT&T account number, or full name to check eligibility.
  3. If you qualify, follow the directions to fill out a claim form. You can file online or by mail, but it must be submitted or postmarked by November 18.

To double-check or if you need help, call Kroll Settlement Administration at (833) 890-4930.

When will payments arrive?

If the settlement gets final court approval—and the big hearing is set for December 3, 2025—you could see your payment in early 2026.

But do not wait to file. The sooner your claim is in, the sooner it can be processed—and that could speed up your payout.

What if you do not file or miss the deadline?

Here is the deal: if you miss the November 18 deadline, you are out of luck. You will not get any cash, free credit monitoring, or anything else from this settlement.

And if you do nothing, you also lose the right to sue AT&T for these incidents in the future. That is why filing a claim—even if you are skeptical—is the smarter move
