If you have used an iPhone, iPad, or any other Siri-enabled Apple device since 2014, this might be your last chance to claim money from Apple. Thousands of users across the country could be eligible for up to $100, depending on how many devices they owned—but the deadline is quickly approaching. This all comes from a class action lawsuit, Lopez v. Apple, that accused Apple of recording private conversations without permission.

What is the siri lawsuit about?

The lawsuit, Lopez v. Apple, was filed back in 2021. It claims that Apple devices with Siri were listening in on people without their knowledge.

  • Users say they experienced unintended Siri activations during private conversations.
  • Some also claim their devices picked up private chats and sent that information to third parties, including advertisers.
  • This means users were later seeing ads about things they had only spoken about privately.

Apple has denied these claims, but agreed to a $95 million settlement to resolve the issue without admitting wrongdoing.

Who is eligible for the siri settlement?

You may be eligible for compensation if:

  • You owned or bought a Siri-enabled Apple device between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024.
  • You experienced a Siri activation you did not intend, especially during a confidential or personal conversation.

Here is a list of devices that qualify:

  • iPhone
  • iPad
  • Apple Watch
  • MacBook
  • iMac
  • HomePod
  • iPod Touch
  • Apple TV

You do not need a receipt or proof of purchase, but you do need to declare under oath that the Siri activation happened.

When is the deadline to submit a claim?

You need to act fast. The deadline to file your claim is Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

After that, you will no longer be able to get a payout from the settlement, even if you qualify.

How to file a siri settlement claim

Filing your claim is simple and can be done online. Here is how:

  • Visit the official Lopez Voice Assistant Settlement website.
  • If you received a claim form by email or mail, use the Claim ID and Confirmation Code provided.
  • If you did not get one, you can still submit a claim manually on the site.

Each person can claim up to five devices, and each device is worth up to $20, depending on how many people file. That means you could receive as much as $100.

When will I get my siri settlement money?

The court is expected to approve the settlement on August 1, 2025. If all goes according to plan, payments will be made after that date. Keep in mind:

  • The amount you receive may be less than $20 per device, depending on how many total claims are submitted.
  • If you file, you will not be able to sue Apple separately over this issue in the future.

Why is this important?

If you have ever felt like your phone was listening to you, you are not alone. This case is one of the largest to bring attention to voice assistant privacy.

Even though Apple denies wrongdoing, this settlement is a way for people like you to get something back—but only if you file in time.
