Americans who act now have a real shot at getting a $325 cash bonus from Wells Fargo — but there are rules, and you must move before time runs out. Here’s exactly who qualifies and how you can make sure you get it.

Who is eligible for the $325 bonus?

This offer is not for everyone — it’s targeted for new Wells Fargo consumer checking customers only. That means:

  • You have not held a Wells Fargo consumer checking account recently (especially in the past 12 months).
  • You are the primary owner on the new checking account you open.
  • The account you open must be eligible under the offer (typically the Everyday Checking account) and opened through the official offer page or using a valid bonus code.

If you meet those requirements, you qualify to try to earn the bonus — as long as you also satisfy the bonus conditions (next section).

How do you get the $325? what are the requirements?

Once you are eligible, you must do the following:

  1. Open a new Everyday Checking account via the Wells Fargo offer page or using the promo or offer code in-branch.
  2. Make a minimum opening deposit, which is typically $25 if opening in person.
  3. Receive $1,000 or more in qualifying direct deposits into that new account within 90 days of account opening (this is your “qualification period”).
  4. After that 90-day period, Wells Fargo will verify that you met the conditions and then deposit the $325 bonus within 30 days.

You must keep your account open during the full qualification period.

When is the deadline to claim this offer?

You must open your new checking account by October 15, 2025 to be eligible for the $325 bonus.

If you miss that date, the offer will no longer be valid, even if you could meet all the deposit requirements afterward.

Can you avoid the monthly fee on the new account?

Yes — the account comes with a monthly service fee (currently $10 for Everyday Checking). Wells Fargo offers several ways to waive that fee during fee periods. Some common ways include:

  • Maintaining a $500 minimum daily balance
  • Having $500 or more in qualifying direct deposits each month
  • The primary account owner is between 17 and 24 years old
  • Linking a Wells Fargo Campus ATM or Campus Debit Card

Just be sure you consistently meet one of these criteria each month to avoid losing money to the fee.

What “direct deposits” count toward the bonus?

Not every deposit counts. For your $1,000 direct deposit requirement, the funds must come via ACH (automated clearing house) — for example:

  • Your paycheck
  • Social Security or pension
  • Other regular recurring income

Deposits that do not qualify include:

  • Transfers from another bank account
  • Deposits made in-branch or at an ATM
  • Mobile deposits

If you are paid as a freelancer through PayPal or platforms that do not use ACH deposit, those payments might not count — one blogger noted this challenge during their own experience.
