Bojangles aims at national growth
Bojangles, a fast food outlet famous for Cajun-flavoured fried chicken and biscuits, has launched a large-scale expansion plan that will introduce 18 new restaurants to the market before the end of 2025. The Charlotte, North Carolina-based firm announced that the new restaurants would open in five states: New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, and California.
“This year has already been a milestone for Bojangles, and we’re just getting started,” said José Armario, Bojangles’ CEO. The expansion represents one of the largest growth pushes for the brand in recent years, marking a strong step toward bringing its signature Southern-style comfort food to new customers nationwide.

New Bojangles locations coming soon
The company announced a complete list of cities that will be home to new Bojangles restaurants by the end of 2025. They include:
- Texas: Seguin, Spring, League City, Orange, McKinney, and Mansion
- Florida: Pinellas Park, Kissimmee, Daytona, Lutz, and Melbourne
- Nevada: Henderson and West Wendover
- New York: Brooklyn
- Tennessee: Memphis
- Ohio: Circleville
- Oklahoma: Oklahoma City
- Michigan: Wyoming
Whereas Bojangles listed New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, and California as key markets, the longer list suggests that initiatives are also spilling over into Texas, Florida, and other areas — a reflection of the chain’s greater national reach.
CEO claims expansion cites “real momentum”.
Bojangles’ CEO José Armario emphasised that the company’s ongoing growth highlights the brand’s rising popularity. “Our growth in markets like New York, Phoenix, and California demonstrates the strength of our brand and the demand for our bold Southern flavour across the U.S. Bojangles’ momentum is real, and we’re committed to maintaining our mission to expand from coast to coast,” Armario said.
The new locations look to introduce Bojangles’ Southern-style breakfast biscuits, seasoned chicken, and sweet tea to new customers across the country. The popularity of the company has been driven in great measure by die-hard devotees in the Southeast, but over the past couple of years, it has noticed stronger demand in markets outside its traditional one.
A growing legacy in the fast-food industry
Since its founding in 1977, Bojangles has honed over 48 years of its fried chicken, biscuits, and breakfast sandwiches menu. With nearly 850 locations open today in 20 states, the company has become a name in many Southern city households.
The company now has plans to double its 1,000 stores in the coming years — a milestone that indicates its strong growth and individuals’ need for its original taste. Its plan for the future is to open more franchised restaurants, as well as local operators, and enter big metropolitan cities where the brand has never had any presence or has had insufficient presence.

What customers can expect
Each new Bojangles restaurant will feature the chain’s signature menu items, including its famous chicken sandwiches, Cajun fries, and buttermilk biscuits. The majority of the new restaurants will also feature new designs, modern drive-thrus, and mobile and online ordering convenience.
New York and California enthusiasts can look forward to the fresh openings by late 2025, followed by additional restaurants launching progressively afterwards.
A brave leap to the future
With its committed customers and high-octane growth ambitions, Bojangles is clearly making a move to become a credible player in the fast-food chicken space — right up there with Chick-fil-A, Popeyes, and KFC.
As it goes about building its expansion westward, management believes its blend of taste, heritage, and warmth will be a champion at winning over new devotees across the country.
“Bojangles’ future is bright,” Armario said. “We’re proud of how we started but even more enthusiastic about where we’re going.”
