Smoothie King has some exciting news for fans who have always wished for more than just a smoothie. The brand has officially rolled out its first-ever food menu, giving you new reasons to stop by for breakfast, lunch, or even a quick snack.

This is not just a small menu change. Smoothie King has been working on this expansion for more than a year, and now you can pair your favorite smoothie with something a little more filling.

What is on the new smoothie king food menu

The new menu, called Power Eats, is designed to give you options that go beyond a drink. Right now, it includes:

  • Loaded toasts – hearty bread topped with flavorful spreads and proteins.
  • Protein boxes – a balanced mix of protein-packed foods that work well for a quick meal or snack.

This new line-up is meant to complement the smoothies you already love. Whether you are in for a meal replacement or simply want to add something extra to your drink order, you now have more choices.

Why smoothie king added food to the menu

You might be wondering why Smoothie King decided to move into food. According to Claudia Schaefer, Chief Marketing Officer at Smoothie King, the decision came from how well guests responded to smoothie bowls launched in 2023.

“The launch of Smoothie Bowls in 2023 was a big milestone for us,” Schaefer said. “It was the first time we expanded beyond smoothies, and it gave us invaluable learnings on how to introduce new formats into our system. We saw how much our guests embraced the idea of having more variety, and that success gave us the confidence and framework to take the next step with food.”

After testing the new menu in 14 stores across Dallas-Fort Worth, the chain expanded it to 100 stores in the area before moving forward with the national rollout.

How smoothie king is making the food menu work

Most Smoothie King stores were not originally set up to prepare food. That meant the company had to make some changes. New equipment, like TurboChef ovens and toasters, was added to stores. These upgrades let staff prepare items quickly without the need for fryers or large kitchen setups.

“The toasters and ovens fit seamlessly into our existing store layouts, are easy for teams to use, and most importantly, deliver the high-quality taste and texture our guests expect,” Schaefer explained.

This approach not only keeps things simple for staff but also allows Smoothie King to expand its food options in a smart and scalable way.

Special bundle for smoothie king loyalty members

To celebrate the launch, Smoothie King is offering a limited-time deal. If you are part of the Healthy Rewards loyalty program, you can try one Loaded Toast along with a 20-ounce smoothie starting at $9.99.

The good news is that beginning September 2, this offer will be available to all guests, not just loyalty members. It is a perfect way to sample the new menu without spending too much.

How smoothie king compares to competitors

Smoothie King is not the only smoothie-focused chain to expand into food. Competitors like Robeks, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Joe & the Juice, and Nekter have all added food items in recent years.

For example:

  • Robeks now offers savory handhelds with prices similar to Smoothie King’s new items.
  • Tropical Smoothie Cafe has long had food on the menu and recently introduced breakfast options.

By stepping into this space, Smoothie King is making sure it does not fall behind in giving guests more variety and convenience.

What this means for you

For regular customers, this launch makes Smoothie King more than just a place to grab a smoothie. Now you can walk in for a full snack or meal without needing to go somewhere else. Whether you are on the go, grabbing breakfast before work, or looking for a light lunch, the new menu is designed with you in mind.
