New Age International Inc of Brooklyn, New York is recalling 200g packages of the Daily Veggies brand Enoki mushrooms that were distributed to wholesalers in New York and other states. The contamination was discovered after samples were collected from a store in West Virginia on the 14th of January, 2025. Subsequent analysis by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture revealed the presence of Listeria Monocytogenes in 200g packages of the Enoki mushrooms.
This bacterium can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in children, old people, and people with weakened immune systems.
