Target introduces itself in a new scope this October of 2025 that is going to make big strides by opening seven new stores from different states and across different major markets like California, Texas, and Florida. This brings in a broader nationwide presence as well as the fulfillment model of the stores-as-fulfillment-hubs to enable an in-person shopping experience with same-day delivery and pickup services. Here is the breakdown of these new openings and what shoppers will expect.
Target expanding with new large format stores
Of the seven new Target locations, six actually qualify as larger-than-average stores since their square footage exceeds Target’s average footprint of 125,000 square feet. Built with abundant space, these facilities will offer consumers the widest assortment of merchandise and fresh groceries along with additional services that include Drive Up, Order Pickup, and same-day delivery via Target Circle 360. This aspect fits Target’s model of using its stores not only as retail places but also as regional fulfillment centers giving life to online orders, which presently account for 95 percent of all orders.

Significant job creations come with every store. New stores usually offer employment from 130 to 200 jobs, often at hourly wages of $15-$24. The boost to the local economy is further amplified by Target’s investment in community partnerships through millions of dollars spent in donations and volunteer work every year.
An expanding network

Soon, shoppers in Arizona, Florida, Nebraska, South Carolina, Virginia, California, and Texas will have access to these state-of-the-art store formats, designed to provide convenience, choice, and value.
In addition, future projections look favorable for Target to meet ever-changing consumer needs through a network of tech-enabled interconnected stores, with dozens more locations planned in 20 states. More importantly, the expansion solidifies the value of the retailer in being a convenient, cost-effective, and community-oriented shopping destination across the U.S.
