Parents shop online because it feels quick and easy, but sometimes the products that look harmless can pose real dangers. That is what happened with thousands of baby and children’s items sold on Amazon. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Amazon recently announced a large recall, warning that these products could put children at serious risk.

Here is a breakdown of what has been recalled and what you should do if you own any of these items.

Why are baby and children’s products being recalled on Amazon

The products that were recalled all failed to meet U.S. safety standards. According to Amazon, “Our Product Safety Team proactively investigates and addresses reported safety complaints and incidents to ensure customer protection from potential product-related safety risks.”

  • All of the affected products were made in China.
  • They were sold on Amazon in 2024 and 2025.
  • Each recall comes with instructions for getting a refund.

The risks include choking, suffocation, falls, and even the danger of a child swallowing button batteries, which can cause internal burns.

Which Amazon crib mobile has been recalled

The first big item on the recall list is the Youbeien crib mobile. About 3,000 of these mobiles were sold on Amazon between May 2024 and April 2025.

Why are they dangerous?

  • The battery compartment can be opened without tools.
  • This makes it easy for children to access the small button batteries.
  • Swallowing these batteries can cause severe injury or even death.

Details:

  • Brand: Youbeien
  • Model: RT668-17
  • Price: Around $20

If you own this crib mobile, you should stop using it immediately. Consumers are asked to email the manufacturer, GKKBSJ, at [email protected] for a refund. You may be asked to send photos of the disposed product.

Which Amazon baby lounger and crib bumper have been recalled

Next on the list are about 360 LXDHSTRA baby loungers and crib bumpers sold between May 2025 and August 2025. These items create multiple safety hazards.

What makes them unsafe?

  • Sleeping pads that are too thick, which can cause suffocation.
  • Low sides, which increase the risk of falls and entrapment.
  • Crib bumpers included in the set, which are banned under federal law because they can block breathing and cause death.

Details:

  • Prints include tan star, big elephant, green elephant, gray feather, and gray rainbow.
  • Comes with a red and black bumper with letters A–F and animal characters.
  • Price: $30 to $34

If you purchased this lounger, contact [email protected] for a refund. Photos of the destroyed lounger (foam, pads, cover, and bumper cut in half) are required.

Which kids’ helmets sold on Amazon have been recalled

The recall also affects around 1,780 YooxArmor multi-purpose helmets for kids. These helmets were sold from October 2024 through July 2025 for about $30.

Why are they being recalled?

  • They do not meet safety standards for absorbing impacts.
  • They lack required labeling and certification.
  • Children wearing them are at greater risk of head injury in a fall or accident.

Details:

  • Size small, pink with unicorn, rainbow, and star print.
  • Black straps, black padding, and a black and red buckle.

If you bought this helmet, email [email protected] for a refund. You will need to send a photo of the helmet with the straps cut off.

How to know if your Amazon product is recalled

If you are not sure whether the item you bought is on the recall list, here are quick steps you can take:

  • Check the Amazon recall page and the CPSC website.
  • Look at the product name, brand, and model number.
  • Contact the seller or manufacturer directly if you need clarification.

You will not need to return the products by mail. Instead, refunds are given after you send proof that the item has been destroyed.
