Thanks to a bold new collaboration with Dr. Squatch, the Hollywood actress is releasing a limited-edition soap bar made with — brace yourself — her actual bathwater.
From viral Ad to viral soap
Sydney Sweeney and Dr. Squatch first teamed up last year for a buzzy ad campaign featuring the actress luxuriating in a bathtub, promoting the brand’s line of natural personal care products. Now, they’ve upped the ante. The newly launched “Bathwater Bliss” soap features exfoliating sand, pine bark extract, and, yes, real bathwater from Sweeney herself.
“When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap,” Sweeney said in a tongue-in-cheek press release.
Only 5,000 bars will be made, making this not just a novelty item but a collector’s piece — depending on how you feel about celebrity hygiene products.
How her bathwater made it in
Wondering how her bathwater ended up in a bar of soap? Sweeney explained the process in a recent GQ interview. During a photoshoot for Dr. Squatch, she actually got into a tub, soaked with their soap, and that water was collected and later used in the soap-making process. No gimmicks — it’s the real deal.
“I wanted it to lean towards my home roots,” Sweeney said. “So there’s this outdoorsy scent of pine, moss, and fir. It smells super manly. But then there’s some city bathwater mixed in.”

Want a free bar? Here’s how
Before the soap officially drops on June 6, Dr. Squatch is holding a giveaway from May 29 to June 5. Here’s how to enter:
- Follow Dr. Squatch on Instagram
- “Like” the designated post about the soap
- Leave a comment
Out of the entries, 100 lucky winners will receive a free bar of “Bathwater Bliss.” If you’re not among the chosen, the soap will be available for purchase — but only while supplies last.
More than just a gimmick
While the soap has undeniable shock value, Sweeney hopes it also shifts how guys think about their daily routine. “It’s weird in the best way,” she said. “And I love that we created something that’s not just unforgettable — it smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love.”
For her, this isn’t just about clever marketing. She wants to push fans toward natural personal care products and away from the chemically heavy stuff you usually find on store shelves.
The bigger picture: Body and boundaries
This quirky launch comes in the context of a bigger, more serious conversation. Sweeney has often spoken out about the oversexualization she faces online. In a March 2024 interview with Variety, she admitted that the constant commentary on her appearance makes her feel like she has “no control” over how people perceive her.
“People believe I’ve signed my life away… that Sydney is not for me anymore,” she said.
Still, with “Bathwater Bliss,” she’s finding a clever, on-brand way to take back some of that narrative — and bottle it.
