If you are an Alaska resident, you might be among about 600,000 individuals who receive a $1,702 stimulus check in June 2025. The funds come from the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD), a program in existence for decades that distributes some of the state’s oil money to its residents. Here is everything you need to know about when to expect the payment, how it is being sent, and if you’re eligible.

When will the $1,702 stimulus check be received?

According to the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, Alaskans who are eligible and whose 2024 and previous years PFD applications have the status of “Eligible–Not Paid” as of June 11, 2025, will receive their stimulus check on June 18.

The payable amount this year is $1,702, consisting of two parts:

  •  Regular Dividend: $1,403.83
  •  Energy Relief Bonus: $298.17

That is approximately $400 more than in last year’s payment of $1,312. If you did not apply, keep in mind the time to apply is from January 1 to March 31 annually. So, if you were excluded, you’ll have to wait until 2026 before applying.

How will the payment be sent?

You’ll be receiving your check according to what you chose when applying:

  •  Direct Deposit: The fastest route—typically the money’s in your bank a few days after the payment date.
  •  Paper Check: Assuming you chose to go this way, there can be several days or even weeks that pass, depending on the mailing schedule.

In order to avoid things getting stuck or lost, your bank information or mailing address must be up to date with the state.

Who qualifies for the $1,702 Stimulus Check?

To receive the PFD payment, you will need to meet a list of strict legal and residency requirements:

  •  You need to have been an Alaskan resident in 2024.
  •  From your 2025 application, you should intend to remain in Alaska indefinitely.
  •  You should not have claimed or filed for residency benefits with another state or country since December 31, 2023.
  •  Thank you; you could not have been incarcerated for a felony—or certain misdemeanors if you have a previous criminal record—at some time during 2024.
  •  If you were away from Alaska for 180 days or more, your absence must be for a valid reason (e.g., military duty or receiving medical treatment).
  •  You need to have been in Alaska for 72 consecutive hours or more between the years 2023 and 2024.
