The following lists are the stores that are closed completely in the United States by Walmart by 2025: The future will bring more closings for Walmart

After that, a comparatively quieter year in 2024, Walmart will probably again shut many underperforming locations in 2025. The retail giant, which boasts more than 4600 locations across the nation, is announcing another wave of permanent closures for stores that are based in six states. Closures stand as continuous issues formed by the retail industry and, actually, reflect Walmart’s evolving focus on profitability and digital growth as part of its overall strategy.

Why Walmart would be closing these stores

From its various reasons-leading financial starvation and operational costs increasing-Walmart would be closing selective stores. While some closures are mainly attributed to low volume of footfall, other closures emanate from high operational costs making it impossible to run. Similar closures in recent years have resulted in job cuts, with some employees being offered transfer but some are not able or willing to transfer.

All of this is part of Walmart’s strategy of coping with evolving consumer habits while competing with the rivals in the online world.
