One afternoon, on a ridiculously dusty day in California, a Latino entrepreneur fulfilled his dreams, grabbed a vacuum cleaner, and drove to Walnut Creek to open up a business. But this was no regular cleaning business—it was SparkClean, and it had a TikTok audience that would soon show the world how you can earn $1,500 in a day… with a mop, a smile, and an awful lot of elbow grease.

Known on TikTok as @sparkclean.cs, this cheerful cleaning professional has more than 7,000 followers watching him scrub, sweep, and polish his way through Northern California residences, gyms, and apartments.

What’s a “deep job,” though

No, it’s not an undercover operation or a secret mission. A “deep job” is simply what cleaners call a deep cleaning service—the kind where you dust from the baseboards to the ceiling fans and all the dust bunnies in between.

Our TikTok popularity provides

  •  Regular cleaning (the kind you wish you did more often)
  •  Construction cleaning (a.k.a. dust galore)
  •  Move-out cleaning (when renters vanish, but their mess stays)
  •  And of course, the mythical deep clean

And guess what? One “deep job” is worth up to $1,500 a day. Not bad for a guy with a bucket and a dream!

A Day in the Life of SparkClean

In one, he illustrates how he made $700 in a day by disinfecting four different properties, including a gym where people sweat for fun. (He cleans up the sweat session.)

In another, he illustrates the work that goes into making that highly desired “1,500, scrubbing walls, mopping floors, and making dusty flats glittering showcases.”

Yeah, it’s work—but he makes it enjoyable. And because of TikTok, others now see what really goes into cleaning and why it’s worth paying for.

His key to success is hustle—and heart

He cleans, but he also motivates. In one of his videos, he says:

“Diversify, learn new skills, invest in your staff, and grow your business. And if a client asks for a service you don’t offer, bless a colleague by referring them. Remember—the sun rises for everyone.”

Now that is deep wisdom after a deep clean.

How much can you earn?

As of June 2025, per ZipRecruiter:

  • The median US cleaner earns $22.95/hour
  • In California, they can earn up to $49.52/hour
  •  Berkeley, California, is one of the best-paying cities, at $28.10/hour

And because Americans are now spending about $2,800 a year on home services and cleaning, there’s no shortage of opportunity.
