A class action lawsuit settlement offers the last opportunity for qualifying Americans to claim damages for unconsented robocalls. UnitedHealthcare will compensate $3.49 million as a verdict against claims that it violated provisions of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by making unsolicited calls through a pre-recorded message. Affected individuals can file a claim by April 25, 2025, without proving damage to receive compensation.
Who is eligible for this settlement?
Individuals who have received automated calls through UnitedHealthcare’s Optum HouseCalls program between October 12, 2019, and February 10, 2025, will be eligible for compensation. They argued that these calls were made without permission and therefore violated the TCPA, even targeting non-members of the company.
How much money can you get?
Those providing a valid claim form can expect compensation of between $50 to $125; however, the final amount will depend on the number of accepted claims and deductions for legal and administrative expenses. The payment will be equally divided among all approved claimants emerging from the net settlement fund.

How to submit a claim
It is a very easy process to file a claim, and no proof of damage or harm is required from the member when making the claim. To make a claim, one has to:
1. Visit the official website of the settlement (provided by the settlement administrator).
2. Complete and submit the claim form by 25 April 2025.
3. Attest under penalty of perjury for receipt of the robocalls.
That being false claims will create the risk of civil or criminal liability and could affect the payout of proper claims.
Key dates to remember
- 25 April 2025 – Claim form submission deadline.
- 10 July 2025 – Hearing for final approval of settlement.
Why UnitedHealthcare agreed to settle
UnitedHealthcare has not, after all, admitted any wrongdoing; instead, it has decided to cut its losses by avoiding a litigation process that might stretch over many years. The first division of UnitedHealth Group that arranges wellness visits to the homes of patients is the Optum HouseCalls program whereby calls promoting this service allegedly would have violated the TCPA for using artificial voices without consumer consent.
What is going to happen next?
After the deadline for claims, there will be a final hearing at the courts in July 2025 for approval of the settlement. Payments will be made soon after if no major objectors arise. Eligible claimants should watch their emails or their post offices for any information about the distribution of payments.
