Summer has been keeping Costco busy—and August is looking to be one of its largest months ever. In a development sure to delight bargain hunters everywhere, the warehouse giant is opening four new United States stores next month, with additional foreign locations forthcoming.

Renowned for bulk transactions, a $1.50 hot dog combo, and loyal membership, Costco keeps expanding crazily as customers’ appetite for its low-priced model is still high.

Where are new stores opening?

Starting in early August, shoppers in Florida, Texas, Nevada, and Washington will find that they can tour brand-new Costco warehouses in their areas. Listed below are the stated U.S. openings:

  •  The Villages, Florida – Opens August 6
  •  Richland, Washington – Opening August 8
  •  Allen, Texas – Opening date to be announced
  •  Spring Valley, Nevada – Opening date to be announced

While no exact opening dates have been determined for the Texas and Nevada stores, anticipation is growing in those communities. These stores are to open soon, following the first two August openings.

A global footprint, a local feel

Seven new stores globally are opening at Costco in August. Besides the four stores in the United States, the company is also opening in Canada, Mexico, and Quebec, Canada:

  •  Rimouski, Quebec – Opening August 5
  •  North Guadalajara, Mexico – Opening August 7
  •  East Newmarket, Ontario – Date to be announced

These international openings come on the heels of Costco’s recent openings in South Korea, Sweden, and Midland, Texas—adding to the growing list of cities embracing the brand.

Why Costco keeps expanding

Costco’s expansion is not just selling in bulk—its a matter of the overall shopping experience. From rotisserie chickens and giant packs of paper towels to surprising big-ticket purchases like vacation packages and even gold bars, there’s something for nearly everybody at Costco.

According to Chief Financial Officer Gary Millerchip, Costco aims to open 25 to 30 new stores globally each year, with about half of those in the U.S. “We continue to see strong demand for new warehouse locations,” he said in March. “We’re committed to reaching more members in more communities.”

Recent openings across the U.S.

Earlier this year, Costco added several new U.S. stores in places like:

  •  Brentwood and Highland, California
  •  Sharon, Massachusetts
  •  Genesee County, Michigan
  •  Stuart, Florida
  •  Prosper and Weatherford, Texas

These recent openings have helped Costco reach even more Americans looking to stretch their dollars.

A win for shoppers everywhere

Whether you’re stocking up on essentials or just stopping by for a hot dog and a quick browse, Costco’s newest stores promise to bring the same great value to even more neighborhoods.

If you live near one of the new stores, keep an eye out for opening dates—you might be weeks from a new Costco in your community.
