If you’re a Texan and a fan of home improvement projects, here’s some good news: Lowe’s is opening not just one, but two new stores in the Lone Star State in 2025. The two lucky cities? Georgetown and Magnolia.

Yes, you read that right—Lowe’s is continuing its Texas expansion, and Georgetown is next on the map for a brand-new store next year. This is part of the bigger, slightly scaled-back plan by the company to open five to 10 new locations nationwide in 2025. They had originally aimed for 10 to 15 new stores a year, but according to a spokesperson, it’s just about giving the company more time to ramp up efforts and get things running smoothly.

So far in 2025, Lowe’s has already made a strong start in Texas, having opened stores in both Magnolia and Fort Worth. And earlier this year, they also reopened their Asheville, North Carolina, store, which had been temporarily closed due to damage from Hurricane Helene.

But the real excitement for next year is the announcement of new stores in Georgetown, Texas, and Maricopa, Arizona. If you live in or near Georgetown, you’ll soon have another big-box store option for everything from power tools to paint samples, all without needing to drive too far.

And now, you are probably asking yourself why, with such terrific demand, the company is not opening more stores. It’s all part of the long game, as the company observes that it still is looking at “dozens” of its potential new locations within several years ahead, as by 2026 the company expects to return to its original pace of about 10-15 new stores per annum. It is, therefore, 2025 more like a building year—literally and figuratively.

Just in case you did not know, Lowe’s has its headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina, which is approximately 30 miles from Charlotte. The company is the world’s second-largest home improvement retailer, right after Home Depot. It opened its very first store back in 1921, hit one million customer transactions by 1964, and already reached one billion customer transactions by 2020. That’s a lot of nails and lumber.

If you are in Texas and enjoy walking the aisles of flooring, fixtures, or seasonal décor, Georgetown’s new store could be your next ‘go-to’ store. Whether a full kitchen renovation or a new hose for the yard, Lowe’s wants to make sure you have another option close to home.

So keep your eyes peeled in 2025—Texas is growing, and Lowe’s is growing with it. Georgetown residents, your home improvement game is about to get a serious upgrade.
