Easter Sunday is an important Christian festival honoring the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter will be celebrated on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Easter Sunday, which involves the festivities, hymns of praise, and family gatherings, is also a day when most stores see a change in their operating hours or closure altogether. If you find yourself in a last-minute shopping spree for Easter, this is a rundown of operating hours for some major U.S. retailers and some home-improvement stores:

Target and Lowe’s: Closed for the holiday

If you were hoping to visit Target on Easter Sunday, then it is time to make new plans. Target and Lowe’s will be closed on April 20. Target has closed for Easter in recent years to give employees time for their families. Lowe’s will also be closed for the holiday.

Walmart and Home Depot: Open with limited hours

Walmart is open regular hours on Easter, so if you’re finding food or household goods at the last minute, it should provide you with a reliable option. Home Depot, however, is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

  • TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods are also closed for the holiday.
  • Victoria’s Secret stores are mostly closed, but some may operate depending on mall hours.
